Rental agreement
Effective 25 June 2026
This is the default agreement between the owner of a robot and the renter for each booking made through Ollee. It applies to every booking unless the owner and the renter agree something different in writing. Ollee is not a party to this agreement. Ollee provides the platform and handles the payment. The booking confirmation, with its dates, hours, and price, forms part of this agreement.
The rental
The owner lets the renter use the robot for the period shown in the booking. A booking can run across several days, and it can be limited to set hours within each day. The renter may use the robot only for the agreed purpose and only during the agreed time.
Condition and return
The owner provides the robot in good working order and fit for the use described in the listing. The renter returns the robot at the agreed time in the same condition, apart from fair wear and tear. The renter must tell the owner straight away if the robot is damaged, lost, or stops working during the rental.
Safe and lawful use
The renter must operate the robot safely and within the law. The renter must follow the maker's guidance and any reasonable instructions from the owner. Drones must be flown in line with the rules of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. The renter must not operate a robot where it is not allowed, and must not let an untrained person operate it.
Insurance
Each party is responsible for holding the insurance that suits its position. An owner or a manager may hold insurance for the robot. The renter is responsible for loss or damage that happens during the rental, as set out below. Check the listing and ask the owner if you are unsure what cover is in place.
Damage, loss, and liability
The renter is responsible for loss of or damage to the robot during the rental, beyond fair wear and tear. The renter is responsible for harm or damage that its use of the robot causes to other people or property. Where an owner sets a security deposit, it is shown at booking and charged with the rental. The deposit is returned to the renter when the booking is completed. Each party should report any incident to the other and to Ollee promptly.
Cancellations and refunds
A renter who cancels a booking receives a full refund of the payment, including any security deposit. If the owner cannot provide the robot, the renter receives a full refund. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.
Payment
The renter pays through Ollee at the time of booking. The owner is paid out after the booking is confirmed. Ollee keeps a service fee on the owner side. The owner and the renter must not arrange payment outside Ollee for a booking made on the platform.
What is not allowed
- Using the robot for anything illegal.
- Letting someone else rent the robot on from you.
- Changing or tampering with the robot.
- Removing or defeating any safety feature.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, raise it with the other party first, and contact Ollee at the address below if you need help. This agreement does not take away any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, each party is responsible for its own acts and omissions under this agreement. Some guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded, and nothing here removes them. Ollee is not a party to this agreement, and Ollee's role is covered by our terms of service.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Australia.
